Modern technical solutions for thermal energy recovery during the calcination of oil coke

Oil coke calculation rotary device, designedfirstly under a conventional configuration, which intended tomake the product acceptable from the marketing point of view,did not take into account such problems as increasing overallefficiency, thermal heat recovery and air pollution reduction.Heat evacuated in the environment contain a temperaturepotential of about 800-900 deg C, which represent about 65percent from the entire amount of heal introduced in the calculation device.In the present paper an approach for coke calculation process,and the most common worldwide design solutions for heatrecovery are presented. In the second part of the paper, anoriginal design solution for gas heat recovery, adapted forRomanian devices which have not such a heat recovery unit, isinvestigated and proposed. Implementation of this solutionresults in an heat recovery amount of about 92 percent, and thepollutant emissions, specific for coke calculation (solid particles,carbon monoxide and dioxide), will be harmonized with the actual legislation.
