The automation division of Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI) successfully started up the process optimization system for the 4-strand sintering plant No. 1 in the metallurgical works at Wuhan Iron & Steel Corp.The contract, which was awarded to VAI Automation in September 2000, was implemented in a period of only 7 months. The final acceptance certificate was issued in August 2001.The order comprised advanced process models for the control of sinter quality and productivity as well as training and technical services.
