Work on this mill is proceeding at full pace, important components already having been completed. Further details of the project have now become known. As subcontractor to the Japanese consortium Sumitomo/Mitsubishi Heavy Industries the Innse company is supplying three roughing stands, a coilbox, the complete strip cooling system and two downcoilers. The 90 mm thick slabs emerging from the Sumitomo3' thin slab caster are rolled down in the horizontal stands to a thickness suitable for entry into the coilbox, from where they pass to the MHI finishing stands for reduction to 1 to 16 mm thick hot strip.
