New push-pull pickling line to improve flexibility of production at Duferco La Louviere

Push-pull pickling lines (PPPL) are a new concept of processing lines, whose market is growing in order to satisfy requirements of flexibility for medium or low annual production. Usually PPPL (operating non-continuously) are required by steel producers who wish to increase the production of pickled coils with low investment or who wish to set up a new cold mill complex obtaining a final coated product with higher added value, for example galvanized and painted. The benefits of such plants include quick return-on-investment, quick supply time of the line and quick reaction to market changes. PPPL are the first step of this kind of plants. Besides, the flexibility resides also in the fact that it is possible to design a combined push-pull and semi-continuous pickling line.
