UC Rusal’s earnings drop in Q1; sees 1.2m-tonne deficit for aluminium this year

UC Rusal saw a 56.7% year-on-year plunge in adjusted earningsbefore interest, taxes, depreciation and ammortisation (Ebitda) inthe quarter ended March 31 amid a drop in aluminium prices andpremiums.Adjusted Ebitda rose 2% quarter-on-quarter to $312 million.Revenue in the first quarter fell 22.7% year-on-year to $1.91 billion.
