MIM halts copper anode output at MT Isa

An incident at the anode casting section of MIM's Mt Isa copper smelter in northwest Queensland, Australia, halted anode production on November 20.The cause of the incident, which saw molten metal overflow the casting wheel, is not yet known. It resulted in a fire, which was doused without causing any injuries to employees. Copper concentrates production from the Mt Isa mine is unaffected.
