Thousands of James Dean fans were expected to flood the town of Marion in 2005 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1950s film icon's death. The recently-completed museum near the actor's hometown is more accessible than the previous one in Fairmont, IN. The 7,200 sq. ft. facility presents a six-room interpretive display chronicling the actor's life and subsequent death in a 1955 car accident at the age of 24. It also houses an extensive collection of James Dean memorabilia, which is owned by museum operator David Loehr.
