The decision to replace originally installed asphalt shingles with interlocking steel shingles was made with the help of the property management firm and a firm specializing in roof inspection and consultation services.Lance Roof Inspection Services of Dallas recommended AstonWood steel shingles from MetalWorks, Pittsburgh, PA, for installation on the steeply pitched mansard of the European-styled condominium. Emmett Marshall, Lance's southwest regional manager, said the condo owners were sold on the product's stylish looks and the system's four-way interlocking installation system which utilizes three clips and nails per panel to keep the shingles firmly attached to the roof, especially in high winds.
