Jadestone reimagines its options for Montara

JADESTONE Energy is considering alternatives for managing production at the Montara oilfield offshore Australia, which could see a replacement floating production, storage and offloading vessel deployed on the asset. The Singapore-headquartered EP player's chief executive Paul Blakeley said: "We have a project ongoing to look at alternative ways in which we can manage the remaining life of the Montara asset. That will, and does, encompass taking the existing Montara Venture FPSO to dry dock, or replacing it, or a different form of development concept. "And we'll look at all of those options as we think about, you know, another 10 years of productive life there at least." Jadestone also has exploration upside near Montara that could offer tie-back potential to the producing oilfield.
