摘要

The finite-element-analysis-based computational system of ProCAST is used for computer modeling of the production of an ingot and its piercing on a press. The results are then recodedfor the finite-element computing environment of DEF0RM-3D, which is used to model the piercing of the ingot on the press. The effect of the deformation the ingot during piercing on the change in the density of the metal that is being shaped is determined. The feasibility and prospects of using ProCAST and DEFORM 3D together are discussed.
