PRODUCTION OF STRAIGHT-SEAM LARGE-DIAMETER PIPES MADE OF STEEL OF STRENGTH CLASS X80

The mechanical properties, chemical composition, and geometric parameters of 1220-mm-diam. pipes (wall thickness 20.5 mm) and 1420-mm-diam. pipes (wall thickness 24.9 mm) made of steel of strength class X80 (strength class K65) by the Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant for gas pipelines satisfy modem requirements with respect to all of the criteria normally used for product acceptance. In particular, they meet the requirements of standard API Spec 5L-2000 for PSL 2 and the specifications developed by VNIIgaz and VNIIST for Gazprom. Thus, the Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant can make pipes of strength class X80 at competitive prices in accordance with customers' requirements.
