The conference on industrial safety included reports on important problems in this area: transportation-related accidents; elimination of the maximum permissible concentration criterion and transitioning to new criteria for evaluating risk; improving fire protection services in the organization Gazprom; accurate prediction of human-caused disasters; a problem for the Twenty-First Century -failures of building and other structures. The meeting ended with a teleconference devoted to analyzing the main reasons for the collapse of a 600-m-long bridge in Minneapolis (U.S.). The featured speaker in the teleconference was Dr. Neal Langerman, Chairman of the Industrial and Occupational Safety Department of the American Chemical Society.
