摘要

An increasing percentage of steel is being made in electric-arc furnaces (EAFs) throughout the world. One way of making this steelmaking process less energy-intensive is to shield the electric arcs with foamed slag. This article examines issues related to features of the foaming of steelmaking slags and the effect of this process on the thermal efficiency of EAFs.
