AGV Delivery System for Dry-Sand Cores for Engine Casting

Nowadays, in a factory there are cases of introducing logistics system which combines automated warehouse system and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system for maximizing labor efficiency. In case of managing an inventory in an automated warehouses, it requires a database system. Generally, a personal computer is required to build such a system. However, the model life cycle of a personal computer setting is very short to the likes of only several months and then new models will be released in the market as a model upgrade. In several years, the OS version may be changed and this makes it difficult to replace with an alternative model. As an optional function of the AGV system, we have developed inventory management application software by using ladder logic programming for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). With this application, we can make a proposal logistics system which not only offers the function of AGV system but also works with the warehouse management system.
