What problems were addressed? Our academic health centre has made a commitment to interprofessional education (IPE) and teamwork across the institution. However, each of our programmes (medicine, nursing, pharmacy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and others) educates its students in isolation in part as a result of different academic calendars and schedules. To address the challenges inherent in incompatible course calendars across colleges and schools, interprofessional faculty staff sought to identify ways to integrate an interprofessional and collaborative component focused on complex health issues in students' education.
