The largest industrial company in theUnited Arab Emirates (UAE) outsidethe oil and gas industry, and one of thelargest UAE companies by revenue andprofitability, Emirates Global Aluminium(EGA) is the country's industrial and nationalchampion. Each year, EGA contributesaround USD5 billion to the UAE'sgross domestic product (GDP), equatingto 1.2 of the country's total GDP.Moreover, the business exports USD4billion-worth of primary aluminium products,representing 4.9 of the Emirates'total non-oil exports and approximately11 of all ‘Made in the UAE' exports.EGA has two smelter operations in the UAE– one in Jebel Ali, Dubai, and the other in AlTaweelah, Abu Dhabi. The plants manufacturehigh quality, high performance primary aluminiumproducts in four main forms:-high purity and foundry re-melt productsfor electronics and aerospace and automotiveapplications respectively-rolled products for packaging, lithographicsheets and the automotive industry-billets for extrusion and forging for construction,industrial, transport and automotivepurposes and hot molten aluminium todownstream industry.
