Japan's Kyushu, Shikoku award tenders

JAPANESE COMPANIES KYUSHU Electric Power and Shikoku Electric Power awarded tenders in mid-October. Shikoku awarded first in a tender for four Panamaxes of bituminous coal for delivery in January-September 2016. It awarded to Glencore at S54.50A FOB, sources suggest, probably on a 6,322 kc GAR basis. Kyushu's spot tender concluded at a lower price, but it was seeking prompt material and had looser specs than the Shikoku enquiry, which largely specified "branded" coal.
