Good things come to those that wait is what Europe's stainless steelmakers must be telling themselves. Market conditions have improved measurably over the past year, but prices have continued to head down. For sure, much of the price destruction has been automatic - falling raw materials prices are simply passed on to consumers. But with trade competition on cold-rolled products falling following the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports from China and Taiwan, there is a sense that Europe's stainless steelmakers will be the ones to benefit when the market does turn, rather than importers.
