As of last week we understand that only three Indonesian companies had thecorrect paperwork in place to continue exporting from this month when thelatest rule change comes into force. As we have discussed in previous reports,from November 1 Indonesian tin exporters are obliged to hold “clean and clear”certificates for their mining operations, or their ore sources, to be eligible forthe issue of long-term export licences. In fact, over the past six months exportshave only been permitted under temporary Permission to Export letters, whichexpired at the end of October.
