The headline news is that The Princess Royal will be Patron of the Institute in our Golden Anniversary year. We will all read more about this in the February issue of Mathematics Today, which will be a Golden Anniversary special. However, quite a few members will receive our 2014 letterhead showing our anniversary Patronage in January; so I feel that this short announcement is appropriate.
