The winter slowdown in construction in the northern hemisphere is most definitely starting to make its effect felt, with mills now turning their attention away from North American, European and CIS markets, and towards the Middle East and North Africa. Turkish rebar prices have been steadily dropping over the past month, currently standing at around 465-475 dollars /tonne fob, with contracts agreed with Dubai customers at 480-490 dollars /tonne cfr Persian Gulf. The price has been dropping at a rate of 5 dollars /tonne per week during November.
