Mirant sells Philippine assets to Japanese consortium

Mirant Corporation has entered into a definitive purchase and sale agreement with a consortium of Tokyo Electric Power and Marubeni Corporation for the sale of its Philippine business, for a purchase price of 3.42 billion dollars plus working capital. After the payment of related debt (estimated to be 642 million dollars), the net proceeds to Mirant are expected to be 3.15 billion dollars.
