Indian power generators are fadng Indonesian coal feedstock prices up to $4o/t higher than they had bargained for when they signed power purchase agreements with the Indonesian government in 2006 and 2007. India is currently the second largest buyer of Indonesian coal after China, and its imports were expected to surge as the country brings online more than i4,oooMW of generation capacity in the next two years which would burn around 54mt/yr of Indonesian.
