Nicksl quotes muscled in on ths positive feelings gleaned from US housing resale figures and a stronger euro, leading to a break back above $16,000/tonne. With the technical picture supporting a move to the upside, nickel is set for a run-up in the near term. Overthe course of 2012 to date LME nickel stocks have increased by over 42,000 tonnes - slightly higherthan our forecast 33,000 tonne surplus for the year. Of this total, almost 3,000 tonnes were added in the past week.
