摘要

The reliable determination of flow stress, under conditions that represent those expeiienced by materials during processing or fabrication is becoming increasingly important. For economic reasons it is now common practice to model the processing route, for example, rolling, forging or extrusion, that is necessaiy to optimise the desired product form or microstructure. For computer based modelling techniques reliable material property data need to be acquired at appropriate temperatures and strain rates. To achieve this objective it is clearly necessary to have agreed testing techniques which incorporate calibration of the principle sensors with traceability to a National Measurement System.
