Manchester Polymer Group has double hit at the Manchester Science Festival

The Manchester Polymer Group (MPG) has again run its workshop, The Plastics Surgery, at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. The objective continues to demonstrate the long and varied life of a plastic, from the science of its makeup, to how it can be recycled so that it doesn't end up in landfill. On the first day, students from the University of Manchester provided some hands-on polymer science activities, while, on both days, MPG exhibited some items made from recycled plastic and demonstrated its moulding and recyclability. The workshop was part of the Science Platform theme of the Science Festival programme, which included more than 200 science, technology, engineering and maths events for families and adults in venues across Greater Manchester.
