Evidence for year-round occurrence of the eastern Taiwan Strait Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins (Sousa chinensis) in the waters of western Taiwan

The aim of this study was to survey the coastal waters of western Taiwan for Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins (Sousa chinensis) during the winter months of 2008-2009. By examining anecdotal and opportunistic records humpback dolphin sightings were confirmed in December (n=3), January (n=3) and March (n=1) using photographs.
