It is the trademark of the high purity iron ingots produced at the metallurgical complex of QIT - Fer et Titane Inc at Sorel, Canada and Richards Bay Minerals, located at Richards Bay, South Africa. The Rio Tinto Iron & Titanium Group, which markets Sorelmetal, not only guarantees the high purity of this product, but also the consistency of its chemical composition. This high consistency level is the result of superior quality feed material treated in a closely controlled, modern manufacturing process. Rio Tinto Iron & Titanium says that its first priority is quality, to achieve a higher purity level, a team of metallurgists supervising every stage of Sorelmetal production. The process includes numerous chemical control tests during production of a heat.
