摘要

Haemangiomas are benign tumours of the blood vessel producing tissues with several histotypes. In the present study the authors describe a case of lingual arteriovenous haemangioma in a 8-year-old Rottweiler-mixed breed male dog. The present case report is the second communication of canine lingual arteriovenous haemangioma in the veterinary literature. The endothelial cells of the neoplastic arteries and veins showed intense claudin-5 positivity. They analysed the smooth-muscle layer of the arteries and veins by immunohistochemistry based on calponin and alpha -SMA antibodies.
