April 18 was a beautiful day to be indoors at the University of Wisconsin Chemistry Department in Milwaukee. Our host, Neal Korfhage, along with our sponsors, Pope Scientific Inc. and Wale Apparatus Co., Inc., put on an excellent meeting. Close to 40 people showed up, 14 of which signed up as brand new first-time members. The day of demonstrations began with Tracy Drier (UW-Madison) bending large diameter (41 mm) tubing in the lathe. With a lathe and enough heat, the glass almost bends itself.
