Lightweight composites for cost-cutting covers

Extra lightweight underground access manhole and drain covers have been developed by UK manufacturer Structural Science Composites Ltd (SSC). The SSC composite uses its patented Thrubeam design which produces a stiffer beam in combination with glass fibre reinforcement and the high performance properties of Scott Bader's Crestapol acrylic resin.
