Look What the Cat Dragged In! A whole lot of wood, in fact, as IMaspina Enterprises' newest forestry excauator doubles as loader or steep-slope hoe chucker as required
As Malaspina Enterprises' general foreman Bob Vibert drives his pickup past the sloped terrain just outside Port Alberni, he talks about the realities of logging on Vancouver Island. The second growth (and some first) is increasingly found on sloped areas where it is not economical to employ traditional yarding/skidding methods. New solutions are needed, and one has come in the form of the new Caterpillar medium-sized, rugged 330D FM log-loader, purpose-built and adapted with a grapple (in Malaspina's case a T-Mar Industries product) for hoe chucking. It now really is a case of look what the Cat's dragged in. Still, even Cats can't drag forever.
