Adecade ago, the poultry industry was struggling to keep up with other industries. Recently, however, it appears to have made a remarkable comeback. A noticeable advancement in security measures is one such indication of the industry's evolution. The Carrollton, GA Gold Kist facility -though the birthplace of the company in 1933 - is the smallest of its poultry processing plants. In terms of daily operations and production methods, the plant can be looked at as a microcosm of poultry processing in the U.S. But its security measures are by no means small in scale.
