Wavefront Technology Solutions, specialists in fluid injection for improved performance and profitability in oil and environmental sectors, has secured a contract with Oman's National Oil Company (NOC) to supply six Powerwave systems for a commercial project to commence next month. Pioneered by the Canada-based company, Powerwave is a unique system to extract extra oil from seemingly spent wells. To date, the technology has been used in around 175 wells in North America. "Powerwave enables a company to increase the ultimate oil recovery from 30% to upwards of 50-60% by ensuring that the injected fluids are distributed throughout the reservoir in a more uniformed manner, pushing the oil forward to production wells," explains Wavefront president and chief executive, Brett Davidson.
