ELECTION SEASON IS HEATING UP, AND in a few short weeks we will have a new president and some new members of Congress. What exactly is that expected to mean to our industry? Both candidates offer sweeping proposals to address America's long-term energy needs. Nothing dramatically new in either case, just a collection of current proposed actions with some overlap and some differentiation. To summarize, John McCain favors drilling and Barrack Obama favors green solutions. Both have a fixation on electric cars. Both support clean coal. Both look to provide subsidies to automakers as part of this solution.
