BNSF Railway rolled out the fuel cell locomotive switcher jointly developed with Vehicle Projects using two $4 million grants from the U.S. Department of Defense. According to BNSF vice president of engineering Chris Roberts, the locomotive will be sent to Colorado for additional testing this summer and will be sent to California to test the viability of the technology.
