"Continued suffering" is the best way to describe the way owners have experienced and still experiencing this year with average earnings for the first four months at about 0.61 US$, which again is down on last year's quotation of US$o.66.The year so far can dubbed as "it came", "it was" (quite briefly) and "it went" (too fast). There is quite a bunch of problems hanging over the economy: first of all the continued economic instability in the USA - as well as the Euro zone and secondly - guess what ranges first - the increasing competition between container lines and reefer operators on the major reefer routes.
