Three 40-foot containers are waiting to be loaded at the Mazzoni packing house in Tresigallo near Ferrara. "Three shipments for Asia are planned for today," says Ulrich Spieckermann, foreign sales director. This season, as in previous years, Mazzoniis sending kiwifruit overseas. The company's chief market is Central Europe. Mazzoni centralizes the production from many regions of Italy in two modern handling centres, and the produce is on its way to the customers within eight to ten hours.
