The pineapple guava or feijoa {F. sellowiana) is continually being discussedand debated as to hardiness and culture. In my area (upper zone 8, 80 miles from the coast, with normal winter lows of 10° to I5°f), I grow 13 varieties: Pineapple Gem, Evandale Late Evandale Supreme, Evandale Improved, Superba, Trask, Coolidge, Nazemetz, T4-4, Triumph, Choiceana, Lyon, and Mammoth. They range from one to five years old.
