QCRFG member Chris Plante asked about purchasing an Aratiles tree {Muntingia calabura), also known as Japanese cherry tree, cotton candy tree or strawberry tree.I know the aratiles tree very well. In Southeast Asia it is often planted nextto the doorway as a shade tree. The fruits are very good too, but what amazes me is that those that look dead ripe taste almost the same as those that don't. When I was staying in Manila I practically tore down the tree there to eat the fruit.
