Fisheries recruitment and the North Atlantic Oscillation

There is a considerable interest in identifying the effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) on fisheries. This note presents some empirical results on the relationship between the NAO and recruitment of fisheries in the Northeast Arctic. The results are a sober reminder of the fleeting nature of time series correlations.
