摘要

A report - “Competition in Global Oil Markets: A Meta-Analysis and Review” - commissioned by Securing America’s Future Energy, a non-partisan, non-profit organization "committed to reducing America’s dependence on oil and improving U.S. energy security," claims still that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) successfully force oil prices higher than a free market would dictate "thereby, allowing the export nations to obtain a significant premium captured by national oil companies on behalf of their sovereigns." There has been a transfer of wealth from oil-consuming nations to oil-producing nations "totaling hundreds of billions of dollars more than what the competitive-market price of oil would suggest." This is because "the international market for oil is not a free market.”
