Floridian Has New Plans For Its Behind Schedule Natural Gas Storage Project in Florida, Driven Largely by Emerging LNG Truck-Loading and Export Demand

On August 8 Floridian Natural Gas Storage Co., LLC (CP08-13) requested an extension of time to construct and make available for service its proposed natural gas storage project in Martin County, Florida, albeit a modified smaller version. The original certificate was issued in August 2008. The FGS project was planned for two phases, each entailing 4 Bcf of storage capacity for natural gas in its liquefied state (LNG), a design sendout capacity of 400 MMcf/d and a design liquefaction rate of 50 MMcf/d. FGS then anticipated that operation of Phase 1 would commence in May 2011 and that operation of Phase 2 would follow about 5 years later in March 2016.
