Black & Veatch Survey: The North American Natural Gas Industry Holds Substantial Economic Promise; Concerns Focus on Safety, Gas Supply Availability, and Regulation of Rates

Strong, near-term optimism about the North American natural gas industrys future abounds from all of its sectors, according to Black & Veatchs second annual report, 2013 Strategic Directions in the North American Natural Gas Industry, a feeling representing a rare area of common ground. Survey respondents also think that the regions non-conventional resources will be able to supply all North American users through 2030. Regulatory, capital and business processes are in place to ensure adequate pipeline storage and delivery infrastructure, and the supplies will be economically reliable through 2030. Increasing efficiency in residential/commercial heating customers will mitigate gas consumption increases despite population growth.
