SOUTHERN NATURAL IS ORDERED TO ELIMINATE THE 98% THRESHOLD FOR RESERVATION CHARGE CREDITS; CREDITS FOR SECONDARY POINTS DENIED

Southern Natural Gas Co. (RP11-60) will have to live with the results of FERC's order issued 4/21/11 accepting revised tariff records it filed, but pursuant to section 5 of the Natural Gas Act (NGA) also requiring modifications to pre-existing provisions concerning reservation charge credits provisions. The Commission had given Southern the opportunity to explain why Southern should not be required to eliminate its 98% threshold for reservation charge credits. An explanation by Southern was supplied with its compliance filing submitted on 5/23/11 but in the instant order the Commission rejected it. Protests to the compliance submission were filed.
