Oregon LNG/Oregon Pipeline Put Redesigned LNG Import/Export Terminal-Pipeline Project Before FERC for Approval

On 6/7/13 LNG Development Co., LLC (d/b/a Oregon LNG) (CP09-6) and Oregon Pipeline Co. LLC (CP09-7) submitted to FERC an amended and restated application that originally was filed in October 2008, containing significant modifications to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facilities and interstate natural gas sendout pipeline facilities that were conceived to facilitate gas imports to the U.S. The rejuvenated project before the Commission now entails conversion of the Import Project into a bidirectional LNG terminal and pipeline (collectively, the “Bidirectional Project”) with both LNG import and export capabilities. The Project could serve global markets and will enable the delivery of gas to isolated U.S. markets that may be in need of supply, including Alaska and Hawaii. LNG Development requests authorization pursuant to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act to site, construct and operate a bidirectional LNG terminal and associated facilities as both a place of exit for the exportation of LNG and as a place of entry for the importation of LNG.2
