Field methods for studying tree roots

Root studies are essential in order to assess stability and productivity of forest stands. Following synopsis deals with field methods to study and describe roots and root systems of forest trees. Advantages and limitations of the individual methodsconsidering effort, expenditure and evaluation of the results will be discussed.
