摘要

An INGAA Foundation report, produced on its behalf by Black & Veatch, estimates nearly $57 billion in total tax revenues plus economic benefits to gross domestic product (GDP) and job growth due to midstream investments1 in natural gas, oil, and natural gas liquids (NGL) facilities in the Lower- 48 states, plus the Gulf region, in the 2012-2035 period. The report found these projects would support an average of 125,000 jobs each year and add more than $511 billion in total economic output. The report, entitled US Economic Impacts of Natural Gas, Oil, and NGL Midstream (Pipeline) Investment, focuses on transmission infrastructure impacts, which were found to be significant in both the near-term as well as the long-term. Numerous studies have looked at the economic benefits of developing American oil and natural gas, but this study is touted as "the first to highlight the economic benefits of constructing and maintaining the midstream infrastructure needed to transport domestic energy."
