On 4/22/08 Alaska's Department of Natural Resources(DNR)Commissioner Tom Irwin rejected the 23rd Plan of Development and Operations(POD)submitted by ExxonMobil,BP,Chevron,ConocoPhillips and numerous working interest owners(WIOs)and terminated the Point Thomson Unit(PTU)and PTU Agreement(PTUA).The unit-a gas and condensate field on the North Slope of Alaska formed in 1977-is the structure that combined all lease holdings for purposes of potential development.With approximately 8 Tcf of gas and 200 million barrels of condensate,it is the second-largest gas field on the North Slope after Prudhoe Bay,but no oil or gas resources have been produced.
