Gulf South Pipeline Asks FERC to Rehear Order and Grant its Abandonment Applications to Sell Portions of Facilities in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, Which Are Significantly Underutilized On 1/21/14 Gulf South Pipeline Co., LP (CP13-91 et al.) requested rehearing of FERC’s order denying applications for abandonment, issued on 12/19/13; and requested that FERC grant the applications. The December 19 order denied Gulf South the ability to abandon by sale discrete portions of the company’s facilities in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, which are, according to Gulf South, significantly underutilized and cannot operate asinterstate pipelines without a substantial subsidy from either its core interstate customers or from investors.
